Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday inspected the construction work of the two-lane link road being built under the Mandiri Nala project and the electric crematorium located in the Bans Ghat area in the state capital. He also reviewed the existing arrangements at the electric crematorium.During the inspection, Nitish sought detailed information from officials regarding the progress and updated status of the upcoming state-of-the-art crematorium complex, which is under construction near Bans Ghat.He asked the officials concerned to ensure that the construction of the upcoming crematorium complex at Bans Ghat is completed properly within the stipulated timeframe.The CM further sought information about the progress of the two-lane link road being constructed under the Mandiri Nala project. “This under-construction 2-lane link road will connect the Nehru Path (Bailey Road) near the Income Tax roundabout to the Danapur-Bankipur Path via Bans Ghat. It will also connect to the JP Ganga Path,” a communique issued from the chief minister office (CMO) said.Issuing directives regarding the crematorium complex, Nitish said, “A large number of people come here to attend the rituals related to last rites. All necessary facilities should be made available, keeping the visitors’ needs in mind.”“The construction work of the 2-lane link road under the Mandiri Nala project should be expedited and completed in a better manner. Once the construction of this road is completed, there will be direct connectivity between the Nehru Path and the JP Ganga Path, which will provide greater convenience to people in commuting,” Nitish said.Earlier, while participating in another event near Bans Ghat, Nitish paid floral tributes to India’s first President, Deshratna Dr Rajendra Prasad, on the occasion of his 63rd death anniversary. The state function was organised near Dr Prasad’s ‘Samadhi’ at the Mahaprayaan Ghat, near Bans Ghat.Nitish offered a wreath at the ‘Samadhi’ of Deshratna and paid heartfelt tributes. The chief minister also circumambulated the Samadhi and paid his respects to Prasad.On behalf of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, the additional secretary of Bihar Lok Bhawan Secretariat; on behalf of the Vice President, C P Radhakrishnan, the district magistrate of Patna; and on behalf of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the commissioner of Patna division offered wreaths at the Samadhi of Prasad and paid floral tributes.Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, JD(U) national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha, former minister Shyam Rajak, former MLA Arun Kumar Sinha, the Rajya Nagrik Parishad’s general secretary Arvind Kumar alias Chhotu Singh, along with several other dignitaries, offered floral tributes at the Samadhi of Deshratna Dr Rajendra Prasad, paid humble respects, and offered their tributes.
