Jalandhar: Gunshots were fired at the residence of a veterinarian in Santokhpura locality of Jalandhar at 1.40am on Saturday. House owner Yashpal said he first suspected these were the sounds of firecrackers at some marriage venue, but then his daughter saw through CCTV footage that their car was being targeted.He said CCTV footage revealed that two motorcycle-borne persons fired at least three shots at their car and three more at CCTV cameras. He later told media that they had purchased a new car recently, but they did not receive any threat or extortion call, and they did not have an animosity with anybody.DCP (investigation) Manpreet Singh Dhillon said police got information around 1.45am and immediately swung into action. He also said the family did not receive any threat or extortion call. He said they were working to apprehend the accused.
