Jaipur: A roadways bus from Kekri depot caught fire Friday afternoon near Mansarovar, officials said. The bus carried around 70 passengers, who were all rescued safely along with the driver and conductor. Officials said that the fire likely started due to a short circuit. “The bus departed from Sindhi Camp for Kekri depot Friday afternoon when, on the way, the driver noticed smoke coming from the rear of the bus. The driver immediately stopped the bus and asked all passengers to deboard. No one was injured in this incident due to the driver’s alertness,” said Rakesh Rai, chief manager of Sindhi Camp bus terminal.Officials said that the driver noticed the smoke while heading towards Sanganer from the Mansarovar RICO intersection, and he stopped the bus on the road. As passengers deboarded, the fire increased and the whole bus burnt. The senior official added that all buses will be checked to ensure that such accidents can be avoided. TNN
