AJMER: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ajmer Saturday to launch a nationwide HPV vaccination drive for girls aged 14 years, besides inaugurating and laying foundation stones for development projects totalling Rs 16,686 crore.The prime minister is scheduled to arrive for a rally at Kayad Vishramsthalee in Kishangarh around 11am, where he will launch the HPV vaccination campaign aimed at preventing cervical cancer in women. The program will provide free vaccination to approximately 1.15 crore girls aged 14 years every year across all states and union territories.Governor Haribhau Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and state Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani are among those expected to attend the rally.The PM will also inaugurate or launch 43 different projects across urban development, drinking water, roads, railways, irrigation and industrial infrastructure. Of these, 34 projects worth Rs 8,554 crore relate to urban development, the water supply department, PWD, energy, water resources and industry.Nine other major projects worth Rs 8,132 crore linked to national highways and energy will also be inaugurated or launched.They include a four-lane greenfield expressway from Bandikui to Jaipur to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,207 crore, an eight-lane carriageway of the Delhi-Vadodara Access-Controlled Greenfield Expressway, a six-lane access-controlled green highway of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor and expansion, strengthening and widening work on several highways across the state.Other road projects listed for launch include an elevated road from Sanganer Flyover to Malpura Gate in Jaipur costing more than Rs 286 crore. He will also lay foundation stones for infrastructure and drinking water works in the Jodhpur Pali Marwar Industrial Area.During the day, the prime minister will also hand out appointment letters to 21,863 youth selected for jobs in various state govt departments and organisations.
