Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Friday sought a report from the state over alleged harassment faced by leader of opposition in the assembly Suvendu Adhikari outside the CEO’s office on Tuesday, including action taken against the miscreants.Adhikari’s counsel urged the division bench of Chief Justice Sujoy Paul to issue an order preventing any protest or gatherings within 200 metres of the building that houses the CEO office. The state’s counsel submitted that they wanted to file a report in this matter and requested time until March 5. In the meantime, the division bench instructed the state to ensure Adhikari’s security. The matter will be next heard on March 5.It was alleged that shoes were hurled at Adhikari by protesters when he was entering the CEO’s office. His counsel alleged that no action had been taken even with cops present.
