Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Friday pulled up the Bokaro SP for not being able to trace the whereabouts of an 18-year-old female girl, who has been missing since July 31 last year.A division bench of Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad and Arun Kumar Rai was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by the girl’s mother.
The court ordered the Bokaro SP to appear through online mode and questioned him on the investigation done to recover the missing girl. The court ordered the SP to file a comprehensive report on the investigation done so far and present it before the bench. The case will again be heard on March 19.In course of arguments, it was informed to the court by the police that the mother of the victim had received a phone call on December 11 last year from a person informing them that the victim is in Pune. The police traced the call and arrested a male. The police constituted a team which went with the father of the girl to trace her in Pune, but the girl along with her male companion had left the place before the police arrived.
