Lucknow: Describing BJP govt’s decision to shut down 5,000 primary schools as a part of a conspiracy, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said the schools selected are the ones where polling was held in previous elections and the BJP lost.“These are the same schools were polling booths were formed during elections and the BJP has fared poorly in successive elections,” Akhilesh said in his address to SP cadre at the party headquarters in Lucknow for the second consecutive day on Wednesday to wish the SP chief on his 52nd birthday celebrated on Tuesday. He said the BJP has destroyed the education system in the state to pave way for the private players to open schools. This will make education costly for the common man particularly in the rural areas and the poor will be deprived of education and hence be automatically eliminated from their chance to seek employment in government and private sector.“Once these 5000 schools will be shut, how will the poor students studying in them get education? How will the little girls reach the other schools which will be further away from their villages? Govt appears determined to make education more difficult for poor kids,” he said. “The medical health infrastructure is in shambles. A govt that promises a developed India is unable to provide basic healthcare facilities to its people. There is an acute shortage of doctors and medicines at all govt hospitals.Akhilesh urged thecadre to beware of BJP’s conspiracies. “BJP govt has done nothing since 2017 on the development front. Hence it goes back to communal and caste politics. But we have to remain alert and counter such attempts by telling the people how it has failed,” he said.Senior SP functionaries including Faizabad MP Awadesh Prasad, Rajendra Chaudhary, state president Shyam Lal Pal, MLA Ashu Malik and Manoj Paras, Pawan Pandey, Mahant Ramdas Ji Maharaj Balyogi from Ayodhya called on the SP chief to wish him. President of party’s Karnataka unit N Manjappa and fellow office bearers also reached the party office to wish the former UP CM on his birthday.
