Chennai: AICC in charge for Tamil Nadu, Girish Chodankar said the Congress would be holding talks with the DMK seat-sharing panel on Saturday. Talking to reporters at Chennai airport on Friday, he dismissed speculation that Congress was holding alliance talks with TVK, stating that Congress was scheduled to hold talks only with the DMK. “On Saturday, we’re having a meeting with the DMK poll panel. We will come back to you after that.” When pressed again on reports that parallel talks are being held with Vijay, he asked reporters, “Why are you just speculating all of a sudden? Our talks are with DMK.” Chodankar was non-committal on the question of Rajya Sabha seat for Congress. When a reporter referred to TNCC state president K Selvaperunthagai stating that a Rajya Sabha seat had already been allotted, Chodankar said, “We will see what is there on the agenda during the talks with DMK.” Meanwhile, DMK sources said that DMK MP Kanimozhi is awaiting appointment to meet Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.
