Ahmedabad: Starting Friday, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) began scrutiny of CCTV footage from the ongoing Classes 10 and 12 board exams. In Ahmedabad, four centres were set up for the verification process, with more than 50 staff members currently deployed. Officials said the number of staff will be increased as the exam progresses and the volume of footage rises. Up to 100 personnel may be assigned across the centres to complete the task efficiently.Of the four centres, two are located in Ahmedabad city and two in the rural areas. During the review process, any suspicious cases identified will be separated and forwarded to the board. Based on the findings, copy cases will be registered against students found involved in malpractice.According to officials, only schools equipped with CCTV facilities were designated as exam centres. All classrooms are recorded during the exams. Then, two CDs of the footage are prepared and sent to the district-level authorities for scrutiny.In Ahmedabad city, Class 10 footage is being reviewed at Solaris Public School in Bhuyangdev, while Class 12 (general and science streams) footage is being examined at Sant Kabir High School in Navrangpura. Initially, 15 staff members were assigned at each centre, with plans to increase the number to 25 per centre if required.In rural Ahmedabad, footage review for Class 10 is being conducted at KR Raval School in Ranip, and Class 12 footage at SS Divine School in Sola. More than 40 staff members will be deployed in rural centres. Authorities stated that strict action will be taken in cases of copying, mass copying, or any other irregularities detected during the review.
