Nagpur: Gujarat’s Honey Jumani lived up to her billing to secure both the singles and doubles titles in the MSLTA-NDHTA All India Ranking Super Series U-16 tennis tournament here at the Ram Nagar court on Thursday.In the girls’ singles final, top seed Honey prevailed over Aditri Singh of Lucknow in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, to emerge champion. Later, Honey paired up with Falak Mehta to clinch the doubles title when the Gujarat duo registered a hard-fought 7-5, 4-6, 10-3 triumph over the Pune-Vizag pair of Anika Nair and Parinitha V.In the boys’ singles semifinal, top seed Aaryan Kirrtane of Pune prevailed over Hyderabad’s third seed Rishik K in straight sets 6-3, 6-0, to set the summit clash with Nagpur’s Pranav Gaikwad. The fourth-seeded Pranav made light work of seed No.6 Archan Pathak from Pune, 6-3, 6-1.In the boys’ doubles semifinal, the top-seeded duo of Aaryan Kirrtane and Jeevith S defeated the Nagpur pair of Pranav Gaikwad and Dhruv Mor, 6-2, 6-4. In the second semifinal, the second-seeded pair of Uday Yashasavi Reddy and Rishik K got the better of the fourth-seeded duo of Anagh Agrawal and Sushanth S, 6-2, 6-3.The girls’ prizes were distributed by Sudhir Bhiwapurkar and Vijay Naidu.The boys’ final will be played on Friday at 9am.
