Berhampur: A total of 820 candidates were selected for jobs in various sectors at an employment fair held in Ganjam district’s Chikiti on Thursday. A total of 1,394 job aspirants have registered their names for the fair, organised by the skill development and technical education department and the district administration. The offer letters were issued to 215 candidates, while 181 have selected for training-cum-placement programme, source said. Forty-five employers and 10 training-cum-placement agencies took part in the event. Besides, the Indian Army also joined the the fair and provided necessary guidance to participating youths. Chikiti MLA Manoranjan Dyan Samantara inaugurated the fair, which was also attended by additional district magistrate (general) Pramod Kumar Prusty and other officials.
