Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Youth Commission handed over a report on the findings of a study ‘Lifestyle Changes and Mental Well-being of Contemporary Youth’ to govt.Youth commission conducted the scientific study to enable youth to face challenges they encounter, and the findings were submitted to govt as policy recommendations to prioritise health and well-being of youngsters, said youth commission chairperson M Shajar. The primary aim of this study is to understand the evolving lifestyle and well-being of youth, and it includes digital interactions, changing perspectives on social relationships, behaviour patterns, dietary habits, consumption patterns and the impacts of a sedentary lifestyle, added the chairperson. A total of 1969 youths aged 18-25 participated in the survey. The study was conducted with the cooperation of MSW and MSc Psychology students from various colleges in the state, under the guidance of mental health experts and teachers with expertise in related fields. This is the third scientific study report prepared under the guidance of youth commission.
