Palanpur: Violence broke out at a wedding in Ambagam village of Aravalli taluka over the DJ hired, causing chaos among guests who had to run for safety as stones were hurled at the wedding procession late on Saturday night.The wedding procession (varghodo) of Mayank Khant, the son of local businessman Rajesh Kanti Khant, was near the Ambe Mataji temple in Patel Faliya. The DJ had been arranged from one Jay Harsiddhi agency for the celebration.According to the complaint lodged by Rajesh Khant, a group of men objected to an “outside DJ” being brought into the village. The accused tore the DJ’s banner and began pelting stones at the procession without warning. Rahul Khant and Akash Khant suffered head injuries and collapsed in the sudden violence, and decorative lighting fixed behind the music system was also damaged.As fear spread, guests dispersed and sought cover. An ambulance was called and the injured people were rushed to Vatrak Hospital.The complainant further alleged that the attackers used abusive language and threatened dire consequences if a DJ system was brought into the village again.
