Bengaluru: Two laptops and cash belonging to two students were stolen from classrooms at Reva University a fortnight ago. According to the complaint filed by a final-year LLM (master of law) student with Bagalur police Monday, he attended his first class in classroom no. 329 of Sir M Visvesvaraya Block on Feb 9, stepped out around 9.30am and went to the adjacent classroom for combined studies, leaving his bag behind.
When he returned to the classroom around 10.30am, he found his MacBook Air 13-inch, worth over Rs 1.3 lakh, and Rs 2,000 in cash missing from his bag.Similarly, a Dell Inspiron 3530 laptop worth Rs 52,000, and Rs 2,000 belonging to another student studying in first-year BSc were stolen from classroom no. 309 in the same block. The student had left the laptop and cash in her bag and she also had gone to the adjacent classroom around 8.30am for combined studies.Both students searched the campus and enquired with friends and classmates, but the laptops couldn’t be traced. They complained to the management and then to cops.A case was registered under BNS Section 305 (theft in a dwelling house, or means of transportation or place of worship, etc). Police are verifying CCTV footage from the block to identify the suspects.
