Noida: A 29-year-old woman and her lover were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly strangling her husband to death in Greater Noida’s Surajpur the day before. Police said the murder weapon, a scarf, was also recovered from their possession.On Monday evening, cops received information that a man had died suspiciously at a room in Deola village in Surajpur. The accused, Rakhi, told her neighbour that her husband Vijay (30) had been experiencing stomach aches and died suddenly. The neighbour then called 112 and a police team was sent to the spot.When a team arrived at the scene and examined the body, they noticed marks on the neck. An autopsy was conducted, which revealed strangulation as the cause of death. An FIR was subsequently registered under BNS Section 103 (1) (murder).Investigation revealed Rakhi had been in a relationship with a man named Gurdeep (31) for the past four years. A year ago, Rakhi had left Vijay to live with Gurdeep, but her husband became a hindrance to their relationship, she told cops.Around 15 days ago, Rakhi called Gurdeep to stay with her at her Deola residence. On Monday, she and Gurdeep allegedly strangled Vijay with a scarf. Gurdeep later left the scene of the crime and Rakhi told her neighbour that her husband had died of stomach ache. They were both arrested.Police said the couple had three children under 13 years of age, all of whom live with their grandparents in Belon village.
