T’puram: District collector Anu Kumari said that strict regulations must be followed for the use of loudspeakers during festivals and celebrations. The law permits the operation of loudspeakers only until 10pm. After this time, the use of microphones is strictly prohibited, Kumari clarified.Instructions were given to police to ensure that speakers are not installed in a manner that causes inconvenience to the public and that the volume does not exceed the permissible decibel level. Any violations will result in strict legal action. Meeting in collector’s chamber was convened based on complaints related to noise pollution.
