Jaisalmer: Barmer Police Monday raided an illegal MD drug manufacturing factory operating under the guise of poultry farming in Sinhar, under the Sedwa police station area, for the second consecutive day. MD drugs and chemicals estimated at Rs 8.50 crore were seized.Police said four kg of prepared MD narcotics, 34 litres of liquid chemicals that include hydrochloric acid, ammonia, and acetone, and 48kg of black and white powder were recovered. Officers also seized 540 grams of illegal doda post and equipment used for manufacturing MD.
According to the police, the factory was run in a shed in a field owned by Adam Khan, who allegedly manufactured MD under the cover of a poultry farming business. Adam Khan was arrested from the spot, while three other accused were named in the case. Police said intensive investigation and interrogation are under way to trace the MD supply network. Superintendent of Police (SP) Narendra Singh Meena said the action was carried out during a special campaign against drug trafficking. The SP said two rooms built for poultry farming were found at the site, and a shed behind them contained equipment, chemical bottles, powder, and narcotics prepared in three large glass trays. A case was registered at Sedwa police station. Police said this was the third MD drug manufacturing factory found in the Sedwa police station area in last seven months and the fifth such factory in Barmer district. On Sunday in Sedwa, another MD drug manufacturing factory was raided.
