Kalyan: A 30-year-old private bank employee from Kalyan East, who was biiten by a dog, allegedly died by suicide after reportedly fearing the onset of rabies symptoms. The incident, at Tisgaon Naka area, has renewed concerns about awareness of rabies treatment and mental health support.The deceased, Ayush Vishwanath Amin (30),
was bitten on the leg by a stray dog a few days prior to the incident. Sources said he had taken only one anti-rabies injection after the bite. Family members told investigators that over the last few days, they noticed unusual behavioural changes, which they believe may have been linked to his deteriorating physical and mental condition. Health officials reiterated that rabies is preventable with timely and complete vaccination.
