As of Monday evening, 200 judicial officers received login credentials for a new portal designed for the task. Training has been done and they have started work. “A committee has been constituted by the Supreme Court. All the members participated and have given their views to the Chief Justice of the Calcutta HC. Work has already started after the training today and the SOP is there in the portal. It is a simple portal. There were some teething problems in connection with the OTPs,” West Bengal CEO Manoj Agarwal said after a meeting at the HC.
Two meetings, including a virtual one, were held and attended by Calcutta HC Registrar General Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty, Justice Arijit Banerjee, ECI director (law), district magistrates of all districts, Manoj Agarwal and Special Rolls Observer Subrata Gupta in the afternoon. “A detailed demonstration of the new portal for the judicial officers was given by ECI. They were shown how to log in, how to use the portal and how to write the orders,” a senior EC official told ET. ECI gave a detailed demonstration on how documents need to be uploaded, how documents need to be verified and disposed of through the new portal.
