Nagpur: The city police crime branch cracked three house breaking cases, detained four juveniles in conflict with law and recovered stolen valuables worth approximately Rs2 lakh. The breakthrough came after a burglary at Vinoba Bhave Nagar, under Pardi police station limits. Investigations revealed that the minors stayed in hotels on the city’s outskirts, stole bikes, and targeted locked houses.Complainant Ramdas Hari Gadpayle (65) was in Rambagh to attend a funeral when thieves broke the main door lock of his house between 8pm on February 17 and 5 pm on February 18. They decamped with gold and silver ornaments, mobile phones, and Rs20,000 cash, totalling around Rs61,700.Intensified patrolling and parallel probes led to the detention of the four minors. Searches yielded significant recoveries, including gold valuables, six silver foot bands, three smartphones, and a two-wheeler.The juveniles were linked to two more cases registered at Hudkeshwar PS and Buttibori PS, Nagpur Rural, on February 17. Investigations conducted by senior inspector Vinayak Golhe, under addl CP Vasant Pardeshi, DCP Rahul Maknikar, and ACP Abhijit Patil, revealed that two of the four minors had prior criminal records. One of the juveniles had committed a burglary within one hour of being released by the crime branch in the past.Police also arrested bullion traders acting as receivers for purchasing stolen valuables. The juveniles and recovered items were handed over to Pardi police station. Investigation is underway to trace more accused.
