Ahmedabad: On Sunday, members of several medical organizations, including the Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA), participated in the launch of the Ahmedabad Hitcon AI in Healthcare Declaration at Vigyan Bhavan in Science City.Dr Pragnesh Vachcharajani, founder of Hitcon, said that different stakeholders are committed to the responsible, ethical, and patient-centric use of AI in healthcare. “Some of the major aspects of the declaration include responsible and ethical AI, interoperability according to ABDM standards, clinician-centric AI adoption, evidence-based implementation, democratizing AI for Tier II and III cities, and public-private collaboration,” he said.The event took place as part of Hospex 2026, which concluded on Sunday with participation from national and international delegates. Speakers elaborated on the implementation of AI in different aspects of the healthcare ecosystem, ranging from disease prediction to database management.Dr Rajendra Pratap Gupta, founder of Health Parliament, elaborated on five stages of AI evolution in his speech and said that the role of AI is rapidly evolving from responsive to autonomous. He said the need of the hour is not to be afraid of technological development, but to embrace it to remain ahead of the curve. He asked the doctors to be innovators.The participants also raised issues of quality training data, large-scale adoption of technology, and AI and ethics in medico-legal fields.
