Mangaluru: An eight-year-old girl choked to death after swallowing a cone-shaped plastic piece from a Ludo board game.The deceased, Thanishka R Gatti, was the daughter of Rajesh Gatti and Rajeshwari, originally from Uliyathadka, Madhur, in Kasaragod district. The incident occurred at their rented house in Kolya, near Thokkottu, on Saturday.Police said Thanishka, who was playing Ludo with her siblings, accidentally swallowed the plastic piece and began choking this afternoon. Her mother, a teacher at a school in Ullal, had moved the family to Kolya due to her job. With the school closed, Thanishka was at home playing with her brother and sister.As her condition worsened, her mother, with the help of neighbours, rushed her to a private hospital in Thokkottu. She was then shifted to another private hospital in Deralakatte, where doctors declared her dead.Thanishka was a Class 2 student at St Sebastian High School, Thokkottu.
