Noida: A man was arrested on charges of injuring an 18-year-old with a gun during an engagement ceremony in Bisrakh earlier this week. The incident occurred due to “celebratory firing” by the accused, in which the injured person, who was working as a waiter at the event, was hit by a bullet.The accused was identified as Durvesh Kumar Baisoya, a native of Tila Mod, Ghaziabad, who currently lives in Dilshad Garden, Delhi. He was caught on the service road near Hanuman Square. An illegal pistol with cartridges was recovered from the accused’s possession.On Wednesday, police received information that 18-year-old Pushpendra, a resident of Lal Kuan, Ghaziabad, was injured by a bullet during the engagement of a man named Ankit Bhati in Bisrakh village. He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Doctors later described his condition as stable.During the investigation, police found that the accident occurred due to some guests at the event firing guns to celebrate the occasion. A case was filed under sections 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 109(1) (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Bisrakh station, based on a statement by Pushpendra’s brother. The FIR stated that Pushpendra’s father and other siblings were also working at the event, and that multiple guests fired their guns.On Thursday, using manual intelligence and confidential information, Bisrakh police arrested Durvesh Kumar Baisoya. Further investigation in the case is underway.
