Mysuru: In a novel initiative to keep tabs on unlawful activities, Mysuru city police are using drone cameras to monitor activities in densely populated areas in the city.Commissioner, Seema Latkar, stated that a surveillance operation using drones was conducted at Al-Badr Circle, Nimra Mosque within the Udayagiri police station limits, and Kailaspuram, Sunni Chowk within the Mandi police station limits in Mysuru city on Thursday.
In the coming days, drones will be effectively used for gathering advance information or early warnings during various security duties, public meetings, special events, and other activities. This measure is taken to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.Drones provide an aerial view that helps officers track movement, identify congestion points, and spot potential clashes before they escalate. This surveillance drive is aimed at checking illegal activity and disorderly conduct, and at improving response times during emergencies.Authorities say the technology supports public safety by allowing real-time assessment of situations that are difficult to manage from the ground. Drones can also assist in directing patrol units, managing traffic diversions, and locating individuals who may be at risk in large gatherings.
