Thiruvananthapuram: Human skeletal remains were found on the premises of an unoccupied house at Poonkulam on Thursday morning. Skulls and several bone fragments, including leg bones and ribs, were found. The remains were discovered by Radhakrishnan, who was entrusted with looking after the property owned by a Thycaud resident.One skull bearing the name ‘Vasu’ and another broken one inscribed with the name ‘Asna’ were among the remains recovered. In total, police collected 25 bone fragments from a plastic sack and surrounding areas. The caretaker had reached the premises to collect jackfruit when he noticed the skulls lying among dried leaves. Other bones, including portions resembling legs and ribs, were found inside the plastic sack. He immediately brought it to the attention of local ward member, who then alerted Thiruvallam police. A police team led by SHO J Pradeep, along with SI Mahesh, ASI Anu and officers Vinod Kumar and Mohan, reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection. Forensic and fingerprint experts later conducted a detailed examination of the area.
