Ranchi: Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (Jhalsa) executive chairman and Jharkhand high court Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad took cognisance of a news report about the Feb 17 murder of a woman on suspicion of practising witchcraft in Chaibasa. Her minor son also died.Justice Prasad directed the Jhalsa secretary and the Chaibasa district legal services authority (DLSA) to provide necessary legal and financial assistance to the survivors and their family members. The DLSA was also ordered to conduct awareness programmes against the evil practise in remote villages.
The Chaibasa DLSA provided Rs 25,000 and food items to the victims’ family.
