Mapusa: Authorities have fast-tracked safety measures on the road to the Dattatreya Temple in Assagao after an auto-rickshaw driver and his passenger had a narrow escape from a mishap on Tuesday.A parked rickshaw lost control and rolled into a roadside trench.The driver and a female passenger sustained minor injuries.A crane was used to retrieve the vehicle. Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, along with PWD and traffic cell officials, inspected the site.Lobo said crash barriers will soon be installed. Assagao sarpanch Hanumant Naik said the slope near DMC College is prone to accidents.
