Koppal: BJP leaders on Wednesday claimed that the state Congress govt, led by chief minister Siddaramaiah and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar, was involved in scams during its 1,000 days in office. In a joint press release, Kushtagi MLA and chief whip of the opposition in the assembly, Doddanagouda Patil, along with MLC Hemalatha Nayak, former minister Halappa Achar, and former Koppal Lok Sabha candidate Basavaraj Kyavater, condemned the govt’s performance, alleging widespread corruption, administrative incompetence, and a total collapse of law and order.They asserted that the last 1,000 days marked one of the most troubling periods of governance in the state. “The number of scams associated with this govt is numerous and continues to escalate,” the leaders stated. Among the significant controversies mentioned were the MUDA land allotment issue, the misuse of funds from the Valmiki corporation, and alleged irregularities related to the State Waqf Board.BJP leaders also claimed that despite evidence of bribery in licensing and transfer issues within the Excise Department, the govt supported Excise minister RB Thimmapur. They also raised concerns about the transparency of the guarantee schemes, alleging that substantial amount of money were expended without proper oversight.
