A team of ACB arrested a clerk, Raju Dherange, from the FDA office in Mantralaya while he was accepting a bribe of Rs35,000 last week. Zirwal was in Delhi when the action was taken by the ACB. Zirwal admitted that the action was a blot on the department and initiated an inquiry at the department-level.While opposition parties, including Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT), demanded Zirwal’s resignation, Sule came out in support of him. Interacting with reporters in Delhi, she said, “I have known Zirwal for many years and we worked together. He is a self-made man and he took a lot of effort to reach this height. It is quite shocking to see an action by the ACB in his Mantralaya office.”She said, “The chief minister holds the home portfolio, under which the ACB is. The office of the chief minister’s cabinet colleague was raided, which is quite shocking. The chief minister needs to give a detailed statement on the entire case.”
