Madhepura: In a faux pas by govt officials, old age pension beneficiaries found themselves “dead” on the official portal of Murliganj block office in Madhepura district on Tuesday.Sugiya Devi, Jaimanti Devi and Surendra Yadav, residents of Parmanandpur ward no. 2 approached the block office to inquire as they were not given pension for several months. When the staff on duty visited the official portal, they found remark against their names as “dead”.Ritesh Yadav, a local resident, alleged that beneficiaries belonging to the below poverty line were declared “dead” without proper verification while other people alleged of prevailing corruption. They alleged that those who refused bribe to the officials were removed from the list of beneficiaries.
