Lucknow: Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (PuVVNL) has suspended Rajesh Kumar, executive engineer of the Bindki-Fatehpur division, following allegations of bribery, misuse of authority and intimidation of staff.The action came after an internal report flagged serious misconduct and an audio clip went viral on social media in which Kumar was purportedly heard claiming that bribes for power connections in Noida can go as high as Rs 1 crore.The suspension order, issued on Tuesday on the directions of managing director Shambhu Kumar, stated that Rajesh Kumar demanded illegal payments through QR codes sent from his CUG and personal numbers. He also allegedly pressured subordinates by threatening transfers and disciplinary action, and used abusive language with senior, equivalent and junior staff—violating employee conduct rules.Kumar has been attached to the Azamgarh zone pending a detailed inquiry.
