T’puram: Air chief marshal A P Singh, chief of the air staff (CAS), visited headquarters of Southern Air Command (SAC) on Monday to attend the annual commanders’ conference of SAC. He was received by Air marshal Manish Khanna, Air officer commanding-in-chief, and was presented with a ceremonial guard of honour on his arrival.The CAS was briefed on the ongoing initiatives and operational readiness, including air defence of the southern region, and the ongoing expansion of the Indian Air Force‘s reach and capabilities in the Indian Ocean Region. The theme of the conference, ‘Operational Efficiency through Decision Autonomy’, underscored Indian Air Force’s evolving approach to modern warfare through decentralized leadership. During the conference, the CAS interacted with field commanders from stations under SAC and highlighted their crucial role in safeguarding the IOR and advancing India’s strategic interests. He emphasized operational preparedness, jointness and integrated functioning among the services. Stressing constant operational readiness and robust security measures, he stressed importance of grooming subordinates and commended the SAC for its exemplary flight safety record.
