Bhubaneswar: A vigilance (confiscation) special court in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday ordered the confiscation of disproportionate assets worth about Rs 2.5 crore belonging to retired executive engineer (rural works) Simadri Nayak.According to a statement issued by Odisha vigilance, the seized properties include a multi-storeyed building in Rayagada, two buildings in Nabarangpur, three plots (one in Rayagada town and two in Nabarangpur town), along with bank deposits and gold ornaments. A case of disproportionate assets was registered against Nayak and his wife on May 12, 2009. The couple was subsequently convicted in the case on Dec 11, 2023.
