New Delhi: The director of an NGO has been arrested for allegedly murdering his colleague following a financial dispute in west Delhi’s Hari Nagar on Sunday. The accused had reportedly taken the victim to the hospital and initially attempted to mislead cops.The deceased has been identified as Harish Kandwal, 46, a resident of southwest Delhi’s Uttam Nagar. He was associated with the NGO operated by the accused and had reportedly been working with the organisation for some time. He was also reportedly running a canteen with his brother. Police said they received information around midnight on Sunday regarding a man who had been brought to a hospital with a stab wound to his neck. Doctors at the hospital declared him dead.A case was registered and a probe was initiated. Investigations revealed that Kandwal had allegedly been stabbed after a quarrel broke out between him and Ashim Ali, 46, a resident of Farsh Bazar.The disagreement is suspected to have escalated into a heated altercation near the CD Block area of Hari Nagar, during which Kandwal was allegedly attacked. “The accused had admitted the victim to the hospital and initially attempted to mislead us during questioning. However, inconsistencies in his statement raised suspicion, and he subsequently confessed to the crime,” police officer added. TNN
