Hisar: Wanted gangster Pawan alias Mussa was arrested after a late-night encounter with the Hisar police CIA team on Friday. The accused, a resident of Moth Luhari village, sustained a bullet injury to his leg during the exchange of fire.Police said Mussa, recently released from jail, is named in 35 criminal cases and has been involved in several robberies in Hisar and Barwala. He had also allegedly posed as a cyber crime officer in Gurugram to dupe victims.
Acting on a tip-off that he was planning a crime near Piranwali village on NH-52, the CIA formed two teams and laid a trap near the NH-52 Pul Bagla Road. When signalled to stop, Mussa allegedly opened fire. A bullet struck PSI Naveen Kumar on the chest, but his bulletproof jacket prevented serious injury.Police then surrounded the accused from multiple sides. During the operation, an officer fired at Mussa, hitting him in the left leg. He was overpowered and arrested. A .32-bore pistol, a magazine and four live cartridges were recovered from him.Investigators said Mussa and his accomplices were involved in a robbery in Hisar’s Sector 14 on October 29 last year, where he allegedly posed as a Gurugram cyber crime officer and forced BAMS doctors to transfer Rs 2.5 lakh to his account.Further investigation is underway.Caption: Police team with the injured accused after the encounter.
