Pune: NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has written to Union home minister Amit Shah seeking a “comprehensive and independent” probe into the Jan 28 plane crash that claimed the life of his uncle and former deputy CM Ajit Pawar.Sharing the Feb 12 letter on his X handle, Rohit said he had also sought appointments with Shah, Union civil aviation minister K Ram Mohan Naidu and senior DGCA officials. “The home minister and civil aviation minister might be busy due to the ongoing Parliament session, due to which I might not get the appointment. I, however, fail to understand why DGCA officials did not give an appointment,” Rohit posted.Earlier, Rohit had conducted a detailed presentation in Mumbai outlining several concerns about the crash and raising questions for investigating agencies and govt. Continuing his demand for clarity, he listed 12 specific points in his letter to Shah.Calling for a transparent, time-bound investigation into the Learjet-45 crash, Rohit sought that the probe be completed within one month. His letter stated, “Along with the time-bound probe, investigate the discrepancies in official records, including ATC transcripts, central reports, flight radar data, and cockpit voice recording. Examine landing-related decisions, including runway selection, visibility, premature descent, and non-diversion.“He further stressed the need for fixing accountability wherever lapses are identified and initiating corrective and legal action. Rohit also proposed the formation of a committee comprising members of Ajit Pawar’s family, as well as MLAs and MPs, from Maharashtra to ensure transparent monitoring of the investigation.
