Mysuru: Sri Hanuman Chalisa Parayana Mahayagna, organised by Avadhoota Datta Peetham Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram at the Maharaja’s College Grounds on Saturday, received an overwhelming response from devotees.Thousands took part in the event organised for universal well-being. Saffron flags were hoisted at the venue, and devotees recited the Hanuman Chalisa. People from all walks of life, including pourakarmikas, recited the Hanuman Chalisa. The participants recited the Hanuman Chalisa eighteen times. The venue reverberated with slogans like “Rama Lakshman Janaki Jai Bholo Hanuman Ki”. Devotees also waved saffron flags and danced to bhajans.Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, who graced the occasion, presented the Hanuman Chalisa Mantra, highlighting its significance to the gathering. Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa wards off fear and absolves sins of people. He appealed to the masses to recite the 40 slokas of the Hanuman Chalisa daily.Junior seer of the ashram, Vijayananda Swamiji, said reciting Hanuman Chalisa daily helps devotees lead a righteous life, warding off their fear, according to the Sundarakanda episode.Hanuma Rakshe was distributed to all participants. A huge idol of Anjaneyaswamy was put up on the podium. The participation of people dressed as Hanuman was a major attraction of the event. Various pujas, including Pavamana Homa and other rituals associated with the ceremony, were also held before the start of the Hanuman Chalisa Parayana.Earlier, MLAs TS Srivatsa, GT Devegowda, and K Harishgowda, and Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamji were present. Prasadam was also distributed to all participants. The event, which was held for about three hours, concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
