Patna: Navneet Sharma, a partner at international accounting firm KNAV and a recipient of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) “40 Under 40” recognition, was appointed to the Accounting and Review Services Committee (ARSC) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a leading US accounting body. The appointment signalled growing international recognition of Sharma’s work in financial reporting and assurance. Sharma hails from Jaipur in Rajasthan. Sharma said, “It’s an honour. My focus will be on ensuring that evolving standards remain practical and inclusive for diverse economies, including emerging markets like India.” ARSC is the AICPA committee responsible for issuing Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS), which govern the preparation, compilation, and review of financial statements for private companies in the United States. His work included engagement with cross-border accounting considerations, positioning him to contribute perspectives relevant to both mature and emerging markets. Observers in the profession noted that such representation can help ensure standards remain responsive to practical realities faced by companies operating in different regulatory and economic environments.
