Chandrapur: Nineteen students from a zilla parishad primary school in Bhamdeli village, located in the buffer zone of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, fell ill on Wednesday after consuming vitamin tablets. The children were immediately taken to Chandrapur GMCH, where doctors confirmed their condition is now stable and out of danger.
The school, which caters to students from Classes 1 to 4, distributes vitamin supplements weekly. However, the tablets had reportedly not been given for several weeks. Teachers allegedly instructed students to take six tablets at once to make up for missed doses, several children consumed all tablets together.Shortly afterward, many students began experiencing vomiting, dizziness, and general discomfort. The school promptly arranged ambulances and rushed the affected children to the hospital, where all 19 were admitted.Education and health officials visited the hospital after the incident, and an inquiry has been launched. Authorities stated the vitamin tablets would be tested, and strict action would be taken.
