The deciding goal of the game came just a moment before the final whistle. At the stroke of the buzzer, both Nagpur and Bhopal scored 27 goals each. When the home team took the final attempt, players of both teams were in the air, and the final decision was referred to the third umpire. After closely monitoring the final whistle and players’ movements, the third umpire declared Nagpur’s attempt a valid goal, and the hosts registered an exciting triumph to break Bhopal players’ hearts. For the winners, Mohit top-scored with 10 goals.The joy of winning a thrilling contest for Nagpur, however, was short-lived, as their women counterparts failed to find the goalpost and suffered a 21-30 defeat. Lucknow Lioness outplayed Nagpur Ajit Hectares by 9 goals for their second successive victory. Lucknow goalkeeper Chetna clinched the best player award for making a handful of saves.Earlier, Bhilai Battalion men registered a four-goal 32-28 victory over Wardha Momentum Warriors after taking a handy 16-10 lead at the lemon break.In the women’s group, Chandrapur Think Tank defended well in the second half to get the better of Ahmedabad Angels 23-20. Both teams scored 11 goals each at half-time.
