Chennai: DMK has announced that the party’s panel to hold seat sharing talks with allies will be formed soon and the negotiations will begin on Feb 22. A statement from the DMK headquarters said that since the state budget session in the assembly was set to commence on February 17 and would go on until February 21. Hence the talks with alliance parties would begin on Feb 22, a statement from DMk said. “Chief minister M K Stalin will soon announce the constitution of committee to hold talks,” the statement said. Earlier in the day,DMK MP Kanimozhi said the bond between DMK and Congress was smooth and that the alliance talks would start soon.DMK said that the party cadres and leaders were busy with multiple works across the state including field work related to special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Lakhs of DMK cadres worked tirelessly to ensure that no eligible voters were missed out, the statement said. DMK leaders were also participating in ‘Oraniyil Tamil Nadu’ campaign and the My Booth, Victorious Booth campaign. This apart, they were organising youth wing and women’s wing conferences, holding training camps for booth agents, and were involved in distribution of govt welfare measures. The statement also pointed out that senior leaders, who were part of the DMK election manifesto committee, were travelling across the state to receive recommendations from various quarters. So far the panel has received 75,000 recommendations, DMk said.
