Patna: Bankipur MLA Nitin Nabin attended the Bihar legislative assembly’s budget session on Tuesday for the first time since taking charge as the BJP’s national president.Senior NDA leaders gathered at the main entrance of the assembly to welcome him. Those present included LJP state president Raju Tiwari, Rashtriya Lok Morcha legislative party leader Madhav Anand, both deputy chief ministers, BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi and several other senior leaders.
JD(U) leader and parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary described Nitin as simple, capable and efficient. He said the BJP leadership’s decision was natural and appropriate. “Nitin not only met the criteria the party used to select its leadership, but also topped all other names,” he said.Choudhary added that Nitin had successfully discharged his responsibilities as both a public representative and a minister. “This achievement at such a young age is extraordinary,” he said, wishing him well on behalf of the people of Bihar and members of the House. He said Nitin’s leadership would strengthen trust in Biharis nationwide.Addressing the House, Nitin praised CM Nitish Kumar, saying that since 2006 he had worked to transform Bihar’s image. He urged newcomers to politics to connect with public issues and raise their voices with dignity.Recalling his journey, Nitin said he entered politics after his father’s death and learned that true identity is built through public service. He said that despite his new role, he would continue contributing as an MLA. “My goal is to make Bihar a source of pride and respect across the country,” he said.Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary termed the occasion historic, saying it was the first time a member of the House was leading a major national party. Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar said assuming such responsibility at 45 was a matter of pride and an inspiration for the youth.
