T’puram: A 29-year-old woman from Vilappilsala jumped from Kundamankadavu bridge into the river in what appeared to be a suicide attempt on Tuesday, but was rescued by nearby residents and later hospitalized, police said.The incident occurred around 3.30pm when the woman, Aathira, suddenly leapt off the bridge into the river below. Eyewitnesses immediately alerted others and several locals jumped into water and pulled her to safety. Poojappura police recorded statements from the woman, and learned that she was under depression over differences with her husband. However, no case has been registered so far. TNN
