Mandya: Mandya district emerged as the top performer in the implementation of the e-pouthi khata campaign in Karnataka, marking a major step forward in the digitisation and streamlining of land records. In recognition of this achievement, deputy commissioner Kumara on Tuesday felicitated 35 village administrative officers who completed the e-pouthi-khata process in their respective jurisdictions. Presenting letters of commendation, the DC lauded the officers for their sense of responsibility, timely execution of assigned tasks, and commitment to public service. He said the district’s first-place ranking reflected the collective effort of field-level officials and their dedication to ensuring transparency and efficiency in land administration. Kumara stressed that the campaign to transfer land ownership from deceased persons to their legal heirs must be pursued with renewed momentum. He underlined the need for strict adherence to govt guidelines and made it clear that citizens should not be forced to make repeated visits to govt offices for khata-related work. Warning against complacency, he said strict action would be initiated in the future against officials found negligent in discharging their duties. The DC also instructed officials to promptly report any technical glitches or procedural hurdles encountered during the khata process to senior authorities, so that issues were resolved without delay and the workflow was maintained smoothly.
