Ahmedabad: Anandnagar police registered an FIR in a road rage case on Saturday in which a woman and her male companion allegedly assaulted a driver, his employer and the employer’s wife following a minor collision near Prahladnagar on Friday afternoon.According to the complaint filed by Upendrakumar Yadav (23), a driver residing in Vejalpur, the incident took place around 1.30pm near Shambhu Coffee Bar at the Prahladnagar Garden Crossroads. Yadav said that he was driving his employer Sanyam Shah’s four-wheeler and was taking Shah’s wife, Nidhi Shah, to a derasar in Prahladnagar.Yadav alleged that as he slowed down to take a left turn, a car driven by a woman suddenly took a right turn, causing the vehicles to brush against each other. When he honked to seek way, the woman allegedly stopped her car in front of his vehicle, blocking traffic, and stepped out along with a male companion. The complainant said the duo began abusing him. When he objected, citing the presence of his employer’s wife in the car, the woman allegedly opened the rear door, abused Nidhi Shah and slapped her twice. Yadav claimed he was also slapped during the altercation. He further stated that Sanyam Shah, who was nearby, rushed to the spot after receiving a call. However, the situation escalated, with the accused allegedly abusing Shah, and the male companion holding him while the woman slapped him. As traffic congestion increased, the accused fled the spot in their car.“An FIR has been registered based on the complaint. We are verifying the vehicle details and examining CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the accused,” an Anandnagar police officer said.
