Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Karn Satyarthi on Monday asked the road construction department (RCD) to conduct physical assessment of roads, culverts, bridges and pathways across the district which have been damaged by the incessant rain in the last couple of weeks. Besides the officials of RCD, engineers and officials of the rural engineering department and civic bodies in the district were asked to conduct assessments and prepare detailed project reports (DPR) within two days for carrying out necessary repairs to ensure safety of motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. “The DPR should not only cover the structures which have been washed away in the rains or have got extensively damaged but those structures which have got weakened in the rains should also be included,” Satyarthi said. Block development and circle officers were asked to collect information about the damaged structures and get them surveyed by engineers and experts.
