Amritsar: Punjab Police’s state special operations cell in Amritsar has arrested a man for allegedly spying for Pakistan and sharing sensitive information about Indian security services.According to sources, during an operation by the SSOC, Harpal Singh—a farmer from the border area of Ajnala tehsil—was arrested. The SSOC is yet to reveal details of the arrest and the sections that have been pressed against the accused. Sources said he was in contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, for nearly a year.It is learnt police have seized a mobile phone with multiple Pakistani phone numbers from him.Given the sensitive nature of the border region, agencies had already been monitoring his movements.Sources said Harpal is under interrogation, and officials believe crucial information may emerge from him. His mobile phone has been sent to the forensics for an analysis.
