Hyderabad: Alleging that Revanth Reddy is always a ‘BJP man’ wearing a Congress mask, BRS working president KT Rama Rao urged people who oppose religious politics and support minorities to see the chief minister’s ‘real face’ by unmasking him. He said Revanth Reddy is the brother of ‘Bade Bhai’ and asked voters to keep this in mind while voting for the Congress in the municipal elections.Addressing roadshows and meetings in the Banswada and Bichkunda municipalities on Saturday, KTR said the Congress had done nothing for the development of the municipalities over the past two years. He promised that if the BRS returned to power, it would ensure better development of the towns. He urged voters to teach Congress a lesson for deceiving minorities and BCs with false promises.KTR urged voters to vote against the Congress unless they had benefited from its promises during the elections. He questioned why Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy joined the Congress despite failing to fulfil promises such as pensions, financial support for women, and educational and agricultural assurances. He demanded that Pocharam Srinivas explain his decision to the people of Banswada.During the campaign, KTR played audio and video clips of Revanth Reddy criticising Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and his family, accusing them of corruption and other wrongdoings. He reminded people of Revanth’s past remarks and questioned Pocharam’s decision to join Congress despite his earlier statements expressing loyalty to KCR and acknowledging the development achieved under his leadership.KTR said that despite Pocharam joining the Congress, thousands of party workers and leaders had remained with the BRS. He challenged Pocharam to resign and seek a fresh mandate if he truly believed in his leadership. KTR accused Pocharam of betraying both the people of Banswada and the BRS for money.Former minister T Harish Rao also accused the Congress govt of completely neglecting both urban and rural areas over the past two years. Speaking at meetings in Toopran and other areas on Saturday, he said, “KCR, as chief minister of Telangana, transformed Toopran in 10 years, but now there is no one to repair the pothole-filled roads. The property tax has increased from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000, burdening the poor. There is now a hospital, but no doctors,,” Harish alleged. He said land prices in the area had crashed after Revanth Reddy came to power. Urging voters to support BRS candidates in the municipal elections, Harish said he would take responsibility for Toopran’s development once the BRS returned to power.
