Kanpur: Police in Hamirpur took major action against banned Chinese manjha on Friday. Under the campaign being run on the directions of the Superintendent of Police, a checking drive was conducted in Maudaha town of the district on Thursday. During this, police arrested two accused after banned Chinese manjha was recovered from two shops. According to police, during checking, banned manjha was found at the shops of Rukmuddin (resident of Upraus, Kasba Maudaha), and Amit Kumar (resident of Mohalla Kajiyana, Kasba and Thana Maudaha). A total of 18 bundles of Chinese manjha were recovered from the spot, weighing approximately 3 kgs. Both arrested accused were challaned under sections 170/126/135 BNSS and sent to the Honorable Court. The team that carried out this action included Sub Inspector Abhishek Trivedi and Sub Inspector Vinesh Gautam. Police appealed to the general public not to manufacture, store, use, or sell banned Chinese manjha. Police warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who violate this rule.
