Jaipur: The Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) removed encroachment from about 7,000 square metres of land acquired by the Board and designated for commercial use in Indira Gandhi Nagar, Sector-1, Jaipur on Friday, officials said.Officials said illegal construction was going on at the plot for the last two months. On Friday, RHB officials with police demolished the construction.
“We have conducted a survey to determine that present value of this property is over Rs 70 crore,” stated an official.Gopal Singh, secretary of the Rajasthan Housing Board, said any kind of illegal construction or encroachment on land acquired by the RHB was unacceptable.“Protecting the Board’s valuable public property is our primary responsibility. In the future, if any illegal encroachment is found anywhere, strict and prompt action will be taken in accordance with the rules,” stated Singh.The RHB already sent a proposal to the finance department to constitute an enforcement wing of the board in line with the Jaipur Development Authority or Jaipur Municipal Corporation or other civic bodies of the UDH Department.
